Greetings FWAFA Family,
I hope you all have had a great summer and are rested, relaxed, and re-charged for the 2022-2023 school year – a school year that promises to be the best one yet!
We are all excited to welcome our FABULOUS FWAFAns back to the building so we can make some #FWAFAMagic!
From your feedback at the end of last school year, I know that keeping our students and staff safe is on a lot of people’s minds. Safety is a top-priority at FWAFA, and we have taken a hard look over the summer at our safety practices. We have revised many of our practices related to entering the building, auditing doors, and supervising students at arrival and dismissal to name a few. We are also training all teachers and staff on a variety of safety topics starting at the beginning of the year and integrated throughout the year for reinforcement. All admin team members will be re-trained on threat assessment. We have calendared various safety drills throughout the year as well and will teach our students the procedures for each drill so that everyone knows what to do. In addition, our board approved the hiring of a School Resource Officer at the last board meeting, and we are working on implementing this initiative.
We are looking forward to seeing everyone at Back-to-School Night on Thursday, August 11. Elementary students are invited to tour the school and meet their teachers from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Middle and high school students are invited to pick up their schedules, tour the school, and meet their teachers from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Staff will be on hand to help with registration, nurse forms, lockers, planners, yard signs, spirit wear, and more.
