“What do you learn in that theatre class?” This year our elementary students will showcase what students here at FWAFA learn during theatre class in accordance with our elementary Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills standards. These showcases are not about the flashy light changes, sound effects or anything that takes focus away from our young performers. As Aristotle stated in the Poetics “spectacle can be omitted”. Instead we have focused on character analysis, safe use of movement and voice, pantomime, and how important ensemble collaboration is for effective storytelling. Here at FWAFA we are blessed with students who have intrinsic aspirations to perform to the best of their ability, so we hope you enjoy how we showcased what they have mastered this semester.
