Sister Act – Texas Center for Arts + Academics

Join Deloris Van Cartier, a lively, aspiring singer, as she navigates through witnessing a crime to seeking refuge in an unexpected place - a convent. While trying to adapt to the cloistered life, Deloris discovers her unlikely calling within the nuns' choir. Through hard work and spirited perseverance, she not only transforms the choir into a sensation but embarks on a profound journey of self-discovery. As Deloris and the nuns lift their voices together, they inspire the entire community to embrace harmony, both in song and in life.

Sister Act, directed by Michelle Haas, marks the second collaboration between SGT and our High School Musical as they were first featured as nuns in the 2009 production of The Sound of Music. Sister Act also marks the 5th scenic design that Bob Lavalle has designed for FWAFA following Oklahoma! and Peter and the Starcatcher last season. Lastly, we have loved our first collaboration with Cherish Love Robinson (musical director.) While this is our first collaboration with Cherish, she is well acquainted with Sister Act as she has played Delores four times and has music directed the show 2 times!
